#DISTORTION fan club: a review from a reader – Ronke Ojeikere
“Today, Lady Ejiro Umukoro, a prominent Nigerian journalist, author, and advocate, who champions human rights, social justice, and equality came by to see me during the Safe Migration for All: Developing Capacity and Promoting Awareness for Regular Migration Pathways in Nigeria Workshop.
She took the opportunity to present her book “Distortion” which confronts critical issues in Nigeria, from systemic injustice to the effects of social biases in education, gender, and human rights to me.
I watched her speak about this book sometime last year on one of our television programs. She is known for her fearless journalism. Lady Ejiro is dedicated to truth-telling and uplifting marginalized voices. In Distortion, she explored how distorted perceptions create disparities and silence vulnerable communities.
Using real stories and insights, she urged readers like me to examine their roles in reinforcing or challenging biases—a message that resonates deeply with those committed to justice and meaningful change.”
Madam Ronke Ojeikere is based in Benin, Edo State.
